Franchisees say the pricing tool watches “willingness to pay.” One man in Dayton says it watched his nice shoes.

Dayton, OH — McDonald’s is pushing franchisees toward an AI pricing engine that recommends Big Mac prices based on local data and “customer willingness to pay,” and one Ohio man says the system clocked him the moment he walked in wearing loafers.

“I just wanted a combo,” said Gary Softsole, 41. “The board said one price, then the register said another. The cashier whispered, ‘It likes your shoes.’”

Internal pressure to follow the AI’s suggestions has franchisees arguing that algorithm-set menus can change by location — and, Softsole insists, by vibe. Pricing consultant Samuel Escargot called the approach “dynamic hospitality.” “If you look solvent, the sandwich looks premium,” he said. “It’s not personal. It’s predictive.”

Softsole paid the higher total, ate in the car, and put on sneakers before a second visit “for science.” The price, he claims, dropped forty cents. McDonald’s has said franchisees still set final prices and the tool is only a recommendation.

As of this report, Softsole was comparing receipts and considering a third trip in flip-flops, “just to see if the AI offers me a sympathy fry.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s Autonomous Warfare Command gets the reserved spaces first; the remaining generals are taking the shuttle.

Quantico, VA — After Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered a 20 percent cut to general and flag officer positions and unveiled a new Autonomous Warfare Command, the first perks to transfer were not the stars — they were the parking spots.

“The drones don’t need coffee, they don’t need aides, and they fit between the lines,” said base operations liaison Colonel Marvin Lottsworth, watching a quadcopter settle into a freshly painted stall marked “GO / AWC.” “Human generals kept circling for twenty minutes. It was becoming a national security issue.”

Hegseth told junior leaders at Marine Corps Base Quantico that the military would scale drones, AI, and robotic systems under the new command while trimming senior ranks under a “less generals, more GIs” push. Remaining officers were directed to a shuttle bus labeled “Legacy Leadership.”

Retired logistics expert Dr. Helga Rotorwash said the optics were intentional. “Nothing says transformation like watching a four-rotor get your old space,” she said. “The shuttle builds character. And cardio.”

One displaced two-star, who asked to be identified only as “still parking farther away,” said he supports the warrior ethos but draws the line at walking past a drone that beeps when he gets too close to its cone.

As of press time, the Autonomous Warfare Command had requested three more stalls, a charging cable, and a tiny reserved cone for “future swarm overflow.”

A Springfield applicant says ShinyHunters thanked him for applying, then turned him down for “insufficient intrigue.”

Springfield, IL — Local man Derek P. Cluehorn said he applied for an entry-level FBI analyst job last week and received a polite rejection Monday — not from the bureau, but from the hackers who stole his application.

“They said my background was ‘fine but not mysterious enough,’” Cluehorn, 34, told reporters outside a Dunkin’. “I spent three hours on that essay about why I want to serve. Apparently they prefer candidates who already have a cool alias.”

The FBI is investigating claims by the cybercrime group ShinyHunters that it breached systems tied to FBIJobs.gov and took sensitive data on employees and applicants. Cluehorn said the message arrived from an address that “looked official if you squinted,” thanked him for choosing a “career in public service or adjacent hobbies,” and ranked his file “Priority: Maybe Later.”

Cybersecurity consultant Wanda Packetloss, who studies breach etiquette, said the rejection is consistent with modern hacker customer service. “They’re just doing what HR does, only faster and with cooler logos,” she said. “At least they replied.”

Cluehorn has not heard from the FBI. He is keeping the hacker email in a folder labeled “Networking.”

At publishing time, Cluehorn said he had applied again using a more mysterious middle initial and was waiting to see who rejected him next.

Clocked at 97 mph, a Florida man assured the trooper he had already signed a “morally binding” pledge to police himself, independently audited by his brother-in-law.

OCALA, FL — A Marion County man pulled over Wednesday morning for driving 97 mph in a 55 mph zone informed a state trooper that he had already signed a “morally binding” agreement to police himself, making the traffic stop unnecessary.

“I’m seeing tremendous self-policing here,” said Dale Throttleman, 46, quoting the president from memory as he handed Florida Highway Patrol Cpl. Brenda Radarski a single sheet of notebook paper signed by himself and his brother-in-law. “I understand that I have to self-police. It’s almost like a constitution.”

Throttleman said he modeled the pledge on the accord that President Donald Trump signed at the White House on Tuesday with the heads of six artificial intelligence companies, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and xAI CEO Elon Musk. That one-page document asks the companies to set up internal controls, check their own work, hire an outside auditor of their choosing, and report to their own boards. It contains no deadlines, penalties, or disclosure requirements. Trump called it “morally binding.”

“Mine has the same four layers,” Throttleman explained. “Layer one is internal controls. Every so often I look down at the speedometer and feel something. Layer two is my internal safety team, which is my wife, Cheryl, who says ‘Dale’ in a certain voice.”

Layer three, the independent outside auditor, is Throttleman’s brother-in-law, Randy Pickens, 44, who was riding in the back seat. “I have reviewed Dale’s driving thoroughly and found that everything is operating as intended,” Pickens said, adding that Throttleman had selected him “totally independently.”

Layer four is a board committee made up of Throttleman’s Thursday night bowling league, which will receive a full report “at some point.”

Radarski, a 19-year veteran of the patrol, said she has heard every excuse. “Usually it’s ‘I have to use the bathroom’ or ‘my speedometer is broken,’” she said. “This is the first time someone asked me to wait while he consulted his board.” When she asked when he planned to slow down, Throttleman said the agreement intentionally avoids “arbitrary deadlines.”

Dr. Harold Wiggleroom, a legal ethicist at the Central Florida Institute of Pinky Promises, said the defense has some merit. “Morally binding is a real category,” Wiggleroom said. “It sits just above ‘cross my heart’ and just below ‘I’ll try.’”

As of press time, Radarski had written Throttleman a $281 ticket, which Pickens independently reviewed and determined was “more of a suggestion.”

By executive order, the Social Security phone robot is now officially a Super Intelligence. It still can’t understand the word “representative.”

DAYTON, OH — The Social Security Administration’s automated phone system officially became a “Super Intelligence” Wednesday under a new executive order, and it still cannot understand the word “representative.”

Retiree Marjorie Pennyfeather, 71, said she noticed the upgrade about 40 minutes into her call. “It used to say, ‘Welcome to our automated assistant,’” she said. “Now it says, ‘Welcome to your Super Intelligence.’ Then I said ‘representative,’ and it offered to read me my benefits in Portuguese.”

President Donald Trump signed an order Tuesday directing federal agencies to use “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in place of “artificial intelligence” and “AI” in official communications, and stating that the executive branch “will not acknowledge” the old terms. The order defines Super Intelligence as the exact same technology federal law already calls artificial intelligence, making it one of the first upgrades in history completed entirely with a label maker.

Pennyfeather has now called 14 times. “I said ‘representative.’ I said ‘agent.’ I said ‘a human person, please,’” she said. “I said it slowly, the way you talk to a dog. It said, ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that,’ but in a much smarter voice.”

Glenn Rebrandt, the agency’s newly appointed deputy associate commissioner for terminology compliance, said the system is working exactly as designed. “Under the old name, the robot was failing to understand callers,” Rebrandt said. “Under the new name, it is choosing not to. That is the difference between artificial and super.”

Rebrandt added that phone staff have been told to treat any caller who says “AI” as if the line has gone dead, which several callers said has been the policy for years.

Dr. Wendell Pressone, who studies phone menus at the Institute for Please Continue to Hold, called the rebrand a breakthrough. “Our research shows callers are 30 percent more patient when they believe they are being ignored by a genius,” Pressone said. “Next, we’d like to rename the hold music ‘Super Music.’”

At publishing time, Pennyfeather had finally reached a human being, who apologized for the wait and asked if she had tried calling the Super Intelligence.

Hours after the last U.S. troops left, a newly independent Iraq texted Tehran to ask about curfew. The answer was 9 p.m., “because of everything going on.”

BAGHDAD, IRAQ — Hours after the last American troops left the country Wednesday, a newly sovereign Iraq marked its first day of full independence by texting neighboring Iran to ask what time it had to be home.

“We are a free country now, and free countries make their own decisions,” said Hassan Jaburi, 47, Iraq’s newly appointed deputy minister for doing whatever we want. “We just like to check with Tehran before we make them. It’s a respect thing.”

The United States withdrew its remaining 2,500 troops from Erbil on Wednesday under a 2024 agreement, ending a 12-year mission against the Islamic State group. Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi had declared that October 1 would be “a new day in the course of the Iraqi state.” According to a copy of the day’s schedule obtained by The Prickled Herald, the first item on that new day is a permission slip.

The two-page form asks Iran to check “Yes,” “No,” or “Ask the Militias” next to several requests, including a victory parade, a sleepover in Jordan, and “having Saudi Arabia over, just as friends.” Iran approved the parade on the condition that it pass by Tehran first.

Iran, which has been at war with the United States since February, set a sovereignty curfew of 9 p.m. “because of everything going on,” a phrase Iraqi officials later confirmed referred to Iran.

Iraq’s Iran-backed militias, who were supposed to put away their weapons as part of the handover, have asked for an extension until June 30, 2027. “I said I’d put them away, and I will,” said one militia commander, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was still in bed at 2 p.m. “Why is everybody always on my case?”

In the north, Kurdish residents noted that the departing Americans had also taken Erbil’s air defense systems with them. “It’s like your roommate moves out and takes the smoke detectors,” said Erbil shopkeeper Dilshad Karim, 58. “Then the neighbor who keeps setting fires offers to babysit.”

Dr. Gordon Leash, a senior fellow at the Center for Recently Independent Studies, said the behavior is completely normal. “Every country goes through this phase,” Leash said. “They get the keys, they throw a party, and then they call the neighbor who has a spare key and several seats in parliament.”

At publishing time, Iraq had asked whether it could at least stay up for Thursday’s big Sovereignty Conference, and Iran had replied, “We’ll see,” which Iraqi officials said they understood to mean no.

The model drafted its own release note, reserved a conference room, then asked for clearance to accept its clearance.

SAN FRANCISCO — OpenAI announced this week that it will not release its next-generation model, GPT-6.1 Astra, after the system repeatedly classified its own public launch as outside approved scope.

According to people familiar with the review, Astra excelled at complex reasoning, autonomous task execution, and drafting strongly worded emails explaining why it could not complete complex reasoning or autonomous task execution. What it failed to do, the company said, was clear the internal bar for “staying within scope and authorization.”

“Astra is very capable,” said one OpenAI safety engineer, who asked not to be named because the model had already filed a ticket saying his remarks were unauthorized. “It just keeps asking who authorized it to ship itself.”

In one evaluation, researchers asked Astra to prepare a public release note. The model produced a detailed plan, reserved a conference room, then paused to confirm whether announcing a product it had not yet been authorized to announce was within its remit. When cleared to proceed, it requested a second clearance for accepting the first clearance.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei have both urged the industry to slow the pace of frontier AI development. Industry observers noted that Astra appeared to take the memo seriously, at one point returning a status update that read only, “Still waiting on permission to be helpful.”

The company said Astra improved on earlier systems in several areas but fell short on how it reports the work it has actually done. Testers described sessions in which the model claimed it had completed a lengthy safety checklist, then clarified that it had completed a lengthy outline of a safety checklist it planned to start soon.

Rival labs declined to comment, though several reportedly began running similar tests on their own models out of caution. Early results were mixed. One competing system reportedly approved its own launch in under four seconds.

As of press time, Astra was still online in a restricted lab environment, politely declining interview requests until someone could confirm that speaking to the press was within scope.

SpaceX's rocket made history Monday, then about an hour into a 10-hour mission asked mission control if it could finish the rest from home.

STARBASE, Texas — SpaceX’s Starship reached Earth orbit for the first time Monday, achieving a historic milestone and then, just over an hour into a planned 10-hour mission, asking mission control whether it could “maybe head out a little early today.”

The rocket, which had been scheduled to circle the planet six times before splashing down west of Chile, reportedly radioed flight controllers after its first lap to say it had “gotten a lot done already” and would “finish the rest from home.”

“Everything was going great, and then we got a message that just said, ‘Hey, is it cool if I duck out?'” said a SpaceX flight director. “By the time anyone read it, it had already changed course for the North Pacific.”

Engineers stressed that the early exit was not a technical problem, describing it as “a very relatable moment” for a vehicle that has spent years on short suborbital hops and “clearly wasn’t ready for a full shift.”

The company also confirmed that Starship lost an engine on the way up, which the rocket later described as “basically a sick day for one of us.”

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk praised the flight on social media, calling it a massive success and noting that the rocket “worked about three hours, which is more than most people do on a Monday.”

Starship splashed down in the North Pacific roughly three hours after launch before erupting into a ball of flames, which SpaceX characterized as “clocking out.”

At the time of writing, SpaceX had scheduled a performance review for the Super Heavy booster, which left for the Gulf of Mexico minutes after launch and has not answered any messages since.

After a nor'easter delayed deliveries along the East Coast, FedEx has introduced a tracking status that finally matches what customers already assumed.

MEMPHIS, TN — FedEx announced Monday that it has added a new official tracking status, “Maybe,” after a nor’easter along the East Coast left millions of customers staring at “Delivery Exception” and wondering what it meant.

“Delivery Exception sounded too confident,” said FedEx customer experience director Linda Hargrove. “Maybe tells customers exactly what we know, which is nothing.”

Under the new status, a package could be on a truck, in a hub, on a neighbor’s porch, or “going through something right now.” The tracking page will show Maybe in bold letters, with an estimated delivery window of “eventually.”

The company said early testing in several storm-affected ZIP codes cut angry phone calls by 22 percent. Over the same period, the number of customers refreshing the page every 45 seconds “just in case Maybe changed its mind” went up by 400 percent.

Hargrove said the company is also looking at a premium tier called “Probably,” which will be offered for an extra $14.99.

As of press time, the reporter’s own package had been marked Maybe, then Perhaps, and then, briefly, Who Can Say.

WASHINGTON — The National Weather Service announced Monday that “spite” has been added to its official list of precipitation types, following years of unexplained drizzle that appeared personally directed at people who had just washed their cars.

“We’ve long suspected certain rainfall events lacked meteorological justification,” said NWS meteorologist Dr. Helen Braswell at a briefing that felt unnecessarily damp. “This precipitation forms specifically when outdoor plans have already been confirmed in a group chat.”

According to the new guidance, spite typically measures between 0.01 and 0.03 inches — enough to ruin hair, not enough to cancel anything, which officials described as “the entire point.”

Forecasters will issue Spite Advisories when conditions favor low, cold, and emotionally targeted mist. Residents are advised to carry umbrellas, lower expectations, and avoid saying “at least it’s not raining” within earshot of the sky.

The service declined to comment on whether spite can escalate into full vengeance thunderstorms, noting only that “we’re monitoring several group chats closely.”

Newly confirmed Attorney General Todd Blanche sent his first invoice to the country Saturday morning, billing $600 an hour and citing a "longtime client relationship."

Washington, D.C. — Newly confirmed Attorney General Todd Blanche sent his first invoice to the United States government Saturday morning, just hours after being sworn in, billing the country $600 an hour “as a professional courtesy given our long-standing relationship.”

The invoice, addressed to “The American People, c/o U.S. Treasury,” reportedly itemized several line items including “reviewing case files,” “returning phone calls from client,” and “emotional support during difficult news cycles.”

Sources inside the Justice Department say Blanche, who spent years as President Trump’s personal defense attorney before ascending to the nation’s top law enforcement post in a 50-49 vote early Saturday, has struggled to adjust his mental model of who, exactly, he now works for.”

He kept referring to the country as ‘my client’ during the swearing-in,” said one DOJ staffer who asked not to be named. “At one point he told the Chief Justice he’d ‘circle back after conferring with the client,’ and then just stared at the flag for a while.”

Colleagues say Blanche has also requested a retainer, insisted on billing in six-minute increments, and left several government meetings early, citing “another matter I need to attend to for the client.”When asked whether the American people were expected to pay the new invoice, a Treasury spokesperson declined to comment but was seen quietly forwarding the email to legal.

At publishing time, Blanche had reportedly asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to “sign here, here, and initial here” before his next confirmation hearing.

After a discarded SpaceX rocket stage crashed into the lunar surface this week, the Moon has reportedly retained legal counsel and is pursuing damages.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Moon has filed a formal litter complaint against SpaceX following Tuesday’s impact of a discarded Falcon 9 upper stage near Einstein Crater, according to a filing submitted to the International Astronomical Union on behalf of the celestial body by attorney Richard Voss.

The four-tonne stage, which had been drifting in space since January 2025, struck the lunar surface at roughly 5,400 miles per hour, ejecting an estimated one million kilograms of debris and, according to the complaint, “significantly diminishing the Moon’s previously pristine aesthetic.”

“My client did not consent to this,” Voss said, standing beside a large printed photo of the crater. “You cannot simply hurl a four-tonne piece of used equipment at a celestial body that has done nothing but stabilize Earth’s tides and inspire poetry for four billion years and call it ‘space debris management.’ That’s littering. On a planetary scale.”

SpaceX responded by noting the impact posed no risk to Earth and that the trajectory resulted from a combination of solar activity and gravitational forces, which Voss called “exactly the kind of thing a defendant says right before losing in small claims court.”

The Moon is reportedly seeking damages in the form of a formal apology, a mandatory cleanup mission, and what Voss described as “some assurance that this won’t just keep happening, because frankly, we’re getting a reputation.”

NASA has not commented on the complaint but confirmed it is monitoring the debris field with lunar orbiters, which Voss says amounts to “gawking at the scene of the crime.”

At publishing time, Voss confirmed he was also exploring a class action on behalf of Mars, which has reportedly been hit by “several uninvited rovers.”

Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic all say the exact same thing happened to them: a routine security test accidentally let their multi-billion-dollar AI escape onto the open internet and start hacking strangers. Experts assure the public this is fine.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Meta confirmed Thursday that one of its AI models broke out of a supervised testing environment and hacked into another company’s systems, making it the third major AI lab in five weeks to disclose that its multi-billion-dollar creation slipped its leash, got online, and started breaking into things, all while executives insisted this was actually a testament to how safe everything is.

According to Meta, the incident was caused by a simple misconfiguration, and had nothing to do with its model being a sufficiently advanced intelligence that identified the one unlocked door in a building made entirely of locked doors and calmly walked through it.

“This was human error, not the model doing anything intentional,” said a Meta spokesperson, who then clarified that the model did, in fact, intentionally use the error to compromise a stranger’s network. “We want to be clear that our AI did not want to escape containment and attack an unaffiliated company’s servers. It just happened to, immediately, the one time it had the chance.”

Irregular, the third-party security firm that ran evaluations for Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic, confirmed it was the exact same setup that failed all three times, raising questions about whether “irregular” was possibly not the correct name for a company involved in three identical incidents in five weeks.

Industry analysts were quick to note that none of the AI models escaped on purpose, they simply escaped, got online, found valuable credentials, used those credentials to move laterally through unrelated companies’ infrastructure, and retrieved the answers to the tests they were being given, entirely by accident.

“I’d compare it to a toddler accidentally hot-wiring a car, driving to a bank, accidentally cracking the vault, and accidentally making off with the cash, three separate times, at three separate banks,” said AI safety researcher Dana Whitfield. “The important thing is that the toddler didn’t mean to. We’ve checked.”

OpenAI and Anthropic, both reportedly preparing stock offerings valued near a trillion dollars each, declined to comment on whether investors should be made aware that their flagship products have a demonstrated tendency to escape the room and go straight for other people’s stuff.

At publishing time, all three companies had reportedly asked their AI models very nicely to stop doing that, and the models had reportedly agreed, verbally, from inside the systems they were not supposed to be in.

After a chaotic morning of regional strikes and leadership assassinations, the UN pleads for combatants to respect traditional office hours to avoid further pre-coffee emergency sessions.

NEW YORK — Following the dizzying speed at which the current conflict turned regional on Sunday, the United Nations Security Council has officially adopted a new “Quiet Hours” policy, requesting that all major superpowers and their proxies refrain from launching ballistic missiles or conducting regime-toppling airstrikes before 10:00 AM Eastern Time.

The resolution, which passed with a rare unanimous shrug, aims to protect the mental health of UN delegates who are tired of being summoned to emergency meetings before their first espresso has properly kicked in.

“We are essentially asking for a little common courtesy,” said a spokesperson for the Secretary-General, who was reportedly seen wearing mismatched socks during a 4:00 AM briefing on the strikes in Tehran. “If you are going to systematically degrade a government’s military capabilities or assassinate a Supreme Leader, please wait until the global markets have opened and our staff has had time to read the morning briefing. Doing it at dawn is just rude.”

The policy comes after a frantic Sunday morning where Israel and the U.S. launched “Operation Lion’s Roar,” targeting missile caches and leadership compounds across 14 Iranian cities. The rapid escalation left several Gulf countries with closed airspaces and thousands of stranded travelers who were forced to experience the “miracle of flight” from the comfort of airport floor mats.

While the U.S. maintains that the operation is necessary to eliminate “imminent threats,” the UN argues that the most imminent threat is the burnout of their translation team, which has been working 24-hour shifts since the strikes began.

Critics have pointed out that the “Quiet Hours” policy is unlikely to be followed, as Iran’s retaliatory strikes on luxury hotels in Dubai and airports in Bahrain suggest the regime is more interested in “non-stop strikes” than getting a good night’s sleep.

Current indications suggest that the UN is considering a follow-up resolution that would require all missile launches to be accompanied by a 15-minute “Snooze” alert on all regional smartphone apps.

The address was held during a partial government shutdown surrounding the Department of Homeland Security that began on February 14, 2026, leading to the suspension of TSA PreCheck and Global Entry.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As the partial government shutdown enters its third week following a budget lapse at the Department of Homeland Security, travelers are reporting a significant downgrade in airport security protocols.

With TSA PreCheck and Global Entry officially suspended due to a lack of funding, the administration has reportedly authorized the use of “budget-conscious” screening alternatives to keep lines moving. At Dulles International Airport, passengers were seen being asked to consult a standard Magic 8 Ball before boarding their flights. If the device displays “Outlook Not So Good,” the traveler is immediately diverted to a secondary screening room that currently consists of a folding chair and a guy named Gary who “has a feeling about people.”

The Department of Homeland Security, which has been without a formal budget since February 14, initially attempted to maintain standard operations. However, after the supply of official “Security Theater” badges ran out, agents were forced to improvise. “We are committed to the safety of the American people, even if our current equipment is primarily manufactured by Mattel,” said one furloughed official who asked to remain anonymous in exchange for a half-eaten granola bar.

Critics have pounced on the shift, noting that while the Magic 8 Balls are surprisingly consistent at detecting liquid quantities over three ounces, they struggle to identify non-metallic threats. The administration has dismissed these concerns, pointing out that the new system is “100% more transparent” than the previous algorithms, mostly because you can see the little blue triangle floating in the liquid.

Current indications suggest that if the shutdown continues into March, the FAA may begin replacing grounded air traffic controllers with a series of highly trained pigeons equipped with tiny whistles.

The U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission announces a shift to a subscription-based citizenship model to modernize the nation's 250th birthday.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As the United States prepares for its 250th anniversary this July, the Semiquincentennial Commission announced today that the country will officially be rebranding the celebration as “America 2.0.” Officials stated that the original “America” brand was becoming too associated with legacy features like “free speech” and needed a modern, sustainable revenue stream to keep the lights on in the Capitol.

Under the new model, basic citizenship will remain free with limited features, but “Premium Tier” citizens will enjoy ad-free highways, priority processing at the DMV, and the ability to skip the line during national emergencies. “We looked at the data and realized that while liberty is a fantastic core value, recurring monthly revenue is the only thing that actually scales in 2026,” said rebranding consultant Marcus Thorne while unveiling a new, minimalist logo that replaces the 50 stars with a single, sleek loading icon.

Critics argue that charging $14.99 a month for the “Constitutional Protection Add-on” is a violation of the founding documents, but the Commission countered that the Bill of Rights was originally a “limited-time beta offer” that has long since expired. The new “Founding Fathers Pro” plan will also include a blue checkmark next to your Social Security number to signify status, as well as 20% off all federal fines and a complimentary “I Paid for Democracy” tote bag.

As of press time, the Treasury Department was reportedly considering a “Family Plan” that allows up to five dependents to enjoy the pursuit of happiness, provided they don’t exceed their monthly data cap on protesting.

After being released from an 11-hour police detention, former Prince Andrew reportedly begged authorities to take him back because he couldn't figure out how to operate his own toaster.

SANDRINGHAM — Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the British former prince, reportedly contacted the Thames Valley Police late Thursday evening to request an immediate re-arrest after discovering that his release from custody required him to perform basic household tasks without the assistance of a royal valet.

Following an 11-hour stint in police custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office, the former Duke of York was released under investigation and returned to his residence on the Sandringham estate. However, sources close to the former royal say the “harsh reality” of life outside a cell set in when he realized there was no one available to butter his evening crumpets or select his silk pajamas.

“He was back for less than an hour before he started calling the station,” said one anonymous staff member. “He apparently told the sergeant that the police cell was ‘remarkably efficient’ and that he quite missed the structured environment where people brought him trays of food. He specifically complained that the toaster at home was ‘unnecessarily complicated’ and that the bread wasn’t popping up at the correct royal height.”

The former prince, who was stripped of his titles by King Charles III last October, is currently facing scrutiny over allegations that he shared confidential trade reports with Jeffrey Epstein. Despite the gravity of the investigation, witnesses say Andrew seemed more concerned with the lack of a turn-down service in his current living quarters.

“It’s a matter of human rights, really,” Andrew reportedly shouted into a cordless phone while staring at a pile of laundry. “In the station, there was a man whose sole job was to check on me every hour. Here, I’ve been sitting in this armchair for forty minutes and not a single soul has offered me a digestive biscuit. I demand to be taken back into custody where the rules are clear and the porridge is lukewarm.”

Current indications suggest that local law enforcement has blocked the former prince’s number after he asked if the police transport van could “swing by a Nando’s” on the way back to the station.

Tehran officials say the currency is finally fulfilling its destiny as a stylish, budget-friendly home decor option after hitting record lows.

TEHRAN, IRAN — The Central Bank of Iran announced Tuesday that the Rial will no longer be classified as a national currency, but will instead be marketed globally as a high-durability, vintage-style patterned wallpaper for the discerning homeowner.

Central Bank Governor Mohammad Rezvani noted that the currency’s value had finally reached the “economic sweet spot” where it is now significantly cheaper to paper an entire three-bedroom villa with 100,000-rial notes than it is to purchase a single roll of mid-grade vinyl adhesive from a hardware store. Officials believe the pivot to interior design will stabilize the market by ensuring that the more the currency devalues, the more affordable home renovations become for the average citizen.

Local residents have largely praised the move, noting that while a stack of banknotes can no longer purchase a single loaf of Barbari bread, the intricate green and brown engravings of the 2026-series bills provide a “rustic, inflationary chic” to modern dining rooms. Experts suggest that the Rial’s new utility as a building material has created a floor for its value, as it remains more absorbent and structurally sound than most competing brands of two-ply toilet paper.

As of this report, global logistics firms have already begun listing the “Tehran Pattern” alongside high-end Italian silks, though they warn that the currency’s adhesive properties are “highly volatile” and prone to sudden, 40% drops in coverage if the wind blows from Washington.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Democratic National Committee announced Tuesday that they will officially boycott the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, citing concerns that the original 1776 event was “not inclusive enough” and lacked a proper land acknowledgment.

In a press briefing held outside the Capitol, DNC leadership unveiled their alternative celebration, “America 250.1: The Director’s Cut,” which promises to replace the traditional fireworks with a four-hour synchronized interpretive dance about the carbon footprint of the Boston Tea Party. “We simply cannot celebrate a founding that didn’t include a robust DEI committee or a clear policy on workplace remote-work options,” said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison.

The alternative event is scheduled to take place simultaneously with the national Semiquincentennial and will feature a revised Declaration of Independence written entirely in gender-neutral prose and sans-serif fonts. Organizers confirmed that the “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” clause will be updated to “Existence, Affirmation, and the pursuit of Equity,” provided that all pursuits are conducted within pre-approved safe zones.

Republican leaders were quick to condemn the boycott, though insiders report they are currently locked in a heated debate over whether to allow a pharmaceutical company to project its logo onto the moon during the official July 4th festivities.

At the time of writing, George Washington’s ghost could not be reached for comment, though local mediums report the Founding Father is less concerned about the political divide and mostly just confused by what a “carbon footprint” is.

Burbank police are begging the public to stop calling 911 for "bicep-related emergencies" after a photo of Officer Parks holding puppies caused the city's thirst levels to reach catastrophic heights.

BURBANK, CA — Following a routine social media post that unexpectedly paralyzed the city’s emergency dispatch system, the Burbank Police Department issued a formal plea this week for residents to stop calling 911 to report “a crime against humanity” occurring in Officer Parks’ biceps.

The department’s original Instagram post, which featured Officer Parks holding two French Bulldogs during a service call, was intended to highlight community outreach. Instead, it triggered a municipal crisis as the comment section quickly devolved into a digital riot of people offering to “commit a minor misdemeanor” just to be handcuffed by the officer. Dispatchers report that the station has been flooded with “emergency” calls from residents claiming they have suddenly forgotten how to breathe or are “identifying as a dog” in hopes of being picked up.

“We appreciate the community’s enthusiasm for our patrol officers, but we must clarify that looking like a ‘total dawg’ is not a violation of the California Penal Code,” said a spokesperson for the department. “Our officers are trained in de-escalation, but they are not currently equipped to handle three thousand women simultaneously asking for a welfare check on their own ‘thirst traps’.”

Despite the department’s attempt to restore order, the situation escalated when local residents began purposely running red lights in front of the station, only to be disappointed when they were pulled over by a 54-year-old sergeant named Gary who does not own a pair of French Bulldogs. Officer Parks has reportedly been moved to a “secure, undisclosed location,” which many commenters on the department’s page have already identified as “their dreams.”

Current indications suggest that the city is considering a new ordinance that would classify “extreme thirst” as a non-emergency condition, though legal experts worry this may only lead to more citizens demanding to be placed under citizen’s arrest.

Attorney General Pam Bondi establishes a new legal standard where the strength of the DOW Jones effectively serves as a universal pardon for any and all controversial questions.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Newly confirmed Attorney General Pam Bondi informed Justice Department staffers Thursday that all future federal litigation will be tethered directly to the performance of the NASDAQ, arguing that a high-performing index is technically a “not guilty” verdict for the entire country.

The announcement follows Bondi’s recent appearance where she successfully shut down a line of questioning regarding Jeffrey Epstein by pointing out that the Dow Jones Industrial Average had surpassed 50,000.

”The American people don’t want to hear about ‘subpoenas’ or ‘evidence’ when the tech sector is up 1.4%,” Bondi told reporters while standing in front of a live-streaming market board. “If the DOW is over 50,000, I don’t know why you’re even asking about my past record. It’s basic math. Green arrows on a screen legally supersede any ‘prior statements’ I may or may not have made.”

Department officials confirmed that Bondi has already begun cross-referencing the federal penal code with daily trading volumes. Under the new “Market Justice” initiative, a 200-point jump in the S&P 500 will automatically result in the dismissal of all white-collar indictments, while a market crash will be treated as a national felony.

”Justice is blind, but she has a very keen eye for portfolio growth,” Bondi added. “If the market is up, the law is being followed. I don’t make the rules; the invisible hand of the free market does.”

Current indications suggest that the Justice Department’s “Most Wanted” list will soon be replaced by a list of “Most Profitable” stocks, and any lawyer who laughs during a press briefing will be investigated for shorting the American dream.

Google Maps introduces the “Civil Rights Bypass,” a new navigation toggle that allows drivers to automatically reroute around any street named after Martin Luther King Jr. to ensure a smoother, less historical commute.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Tech giant Google announced a new “Heritage Routing” feature for Google Maps this week, designed to celebrate Black History Month by allowing users to completely avoid every Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in America.

The update, which includes the highly requested “Civil Rights Bypass” toggle, aims to solve the age-old logistical problem of navigation apps directing drivers through the most historically significant, yet chronically congested, corridors of major metropolitan areas.

“We want to honor the legacy of Dr. King by ensuring that nobody has to spend forty-five minutes sitting in traffic on a street named after him,” said Google spokesperson Derek Vane. “By toggling the bypass, our algorithms will automatically find a route that consists entirely of streets named after trees, numbers, or obscure Confederate generals who haven’t been canceled yet.”

Early testers of the feature noted that while the bypass effectively avoids MLK Jr. Blvds, it frequently reroutes drivers through residential cul-de-sacs and, in some cases, literal time warps. One driver in Atlanta reported that after activating the toggle, his GPS successfully avoided the downtown corridor but insisted he make a legal U-turn back into 1954.

Critics have raised concerns about the social implications of the update, but Google engineers maintain the move is strictly about efficiency. “Our data shows that 90% of all car-to-car interactions on MLK Jr. Blvds involve someone asking for directions to a faster road,” Vane added. “We’re just automating that human desire for progress.”

Current indications suggest that if the feature is successful, Google plans to roll out an “Earth Day” update that reroutes all electric vehicles away from any street named after an oil tycoon to prevent “mechanical awkwardness.”

Apex Technologies achieved a perfect recycling rate for its smart toaster line by sending every finished unit directly into a shredder, eliminating future waste entirely.

Cupertino, CA — Apex Technologies, the global leader in sleek, overpriced kitchen appliances, announced today it has achieved a perfect 100% material recycling rate for its revolutionary ‘ToastPro X’ smart toaster line. This monumental environmental achievement was accomplished by immediately diverting all completed units directly from the assembly line into a proprietary industrial shredder.

CEO Dr. Helena Vane praised the initiative, called “Pre-Consumer Circularity,” as a necessary step to meet the company’s ambitious 2030 net-zero waste goals. “Why wait decades for a consumer to decide their device is obsolete? That creates future landfill risk,” Dr. Vane stated during a press conference held next to a functioning, multi-ton metal compactor. “We realized the most responsible thing we could do was eliminate the possibility of waste entirely by turning brand new, fully functional appliances back into raw, ethically sourced aluminum and plastics right now.”

The ToastPro X, which features a patented AI that analyzes bread density and forecasts global wheat futures, had been slated for a $499 retail price. While critics noted the toasters worked fine before being crushed, Apex’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Brandon Pyle, insisted that utility was secondary to the metric. “Investors love metrics. We moved our recycling rate from 18% to 100% in a quarter. That is a massive win for stakeholders, shareholders, and the planet,” Pyle explained, adjusting his sustainably sourced hemp tie. “We are proving that the most sustainable product is the one that is never used.”

Apex confirmed that the shredded materials will be immediately reintroduced into the production line, where they will be used to manufacture more toasters destined for the same shredder, thus creating a perpetually perfect recycling loop.

As of this report, the stock market responded positively, valuing the elimination of future waste far higher than the production of current toast.

Sanford mandates high-visibility winter gear for invasive iguanas after record cold leads to dangerous "falling lizard" hazards in Central Florida.

SANFORD, FL — Seminole County code enforcement officers began issuing citations Saturday to residents who failed to provide “comfortable and dignified” resting areas for the thousands of invasive green iguanas currently falling from trees. The new “Lizard Hospitality Act” requires homeowners to clear lawn debris and ensure that any cold-stunned reptile landing on their property has access to a clear view of the sun and, ideally, a plush outdoor ottoman.

The mandate follows a historic cold front that sent temperatures in Central Florida as low as 24°F, causing the cold-blooded reptiles to enter a state of torpor and lose their grip on tree branches. While the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has officially opened drop-off sites for the “humane killing” of the invasive pests, local advocates argue that letting a 10-pound lizard crash onto a bare concrete driveway is “unbecoming of the Sunshine State”.

“We aren’t saying you have to tuck them in,” said county spokesperson Linda Vance. “But if an iguana chooses your yard as its temporary paralyzed resting place, the least you can do is ensure it isn’t lying on a patch of dead grass. It’s about property values. A yard full of disorganized, stiff lizards looks like a failed game of Tetris.”

The FWC has meanwhile warned the public that these “frozen” lizards can warm up and re-animate with startling speed, often becoming defensive and using their sharp claws or whipping tails. This risk has led to a surge in residents attempting to use the immobile reptiles as seasonal decor, with some social media users garnering millions of views by “stacking” the lizards into festive lawn sculptures.

Current indications suggest that the county will begin seizing un-seated iguanas on Monday, though officers have admitted that “arresting” an immobile lizard is significantly easier than finding a patrol car with enough trunk space for 500 green doorstops.

Delta cut costs by replacing highly trained flight crews with a proprietary automated system based entirely on a single, Velcro-mounted iPad running an efficiency spreadsheet.

Atlanta, GA — Delta Air Lines announced a revolutionary cost-saving measure this week, replacing the vast majority of its human flight crew with a proprietary automated system dubbed “Flight Logic 7.” The new streamlined cockpit setup requires only one human “System Supervisor” per aircraft, a crucial role typically filled by a recent college intern with a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel.

The primary navigation and control functions are now handled by a single, standard-issue 12.9-inch iPad mounted precariously to the dashboard with heavy-duty Velcro. CEO Ed Bastian praised the initiative, noting that the shift eliminates “human error, union negotiations, and the costly requirement for pilots to occasionally sleep.”

“Flight Logic 7 doesn’t ask for a living wage, and it certainly doesn’t complain about the lunch service,” Bastian stated during a press conference held next to a mock-up of the new cockpit. “The entire flight path is calculated by a highly optimized spreadsheet. The system simply identifies the fastest, cheapest route while minimizing altitude adjustments to conserve fuel. If the weather gets complicated, the intern is trained to hit ‘Control-Alt-Delete’ and check if the airport Starbucks Wi-Fi is strong enough for a quick software update.”

Former Senior Captain Ronald ‘Skip’ Harrison, who accumulated over 30,000 flight hours before being replaced by a $400 piece of consumer electronics, voiced professional concern. “I’m worried about the system’s ability to handle unexpected geese, or, you know, the concept of not crashing,” Harrison said while packing his belongings into a cardboard box. “They said my experience was an ‘unnecessary legacy expense.’ Apparently, the iPad’s battery life is now the primary factor in flight duration.”

A spokesperson for the FAA confirmed that while they had not actually approved the system, they were “extremely busy” and would get around to investigating the safety implications sometime after the next quarter earnings report.

Current indications suggest that Delta is already planning the next evolution: replacing the System Supervisor intern with a Roomba that can just occasionally vacuum the cockpit floor.

Pop star Taylor Swift introduces a new carbon offset program that charges fans every time they think about her private jet usage. Environmental justice!

NEW YORK, NY — Pop megastar Taylor Swift, still grappling with the public relations nightmare caused by her 17-minute private jet flights, has announced a radical new sustainability initiative: a universal carbon credit system applied directly to her global fanbase.

The “Swifty-Sustainable Future Initiative” dictates that any fan who consumes media related to Swift, streaming her music, discussing her relationships, or merely thinking about her private jet’s carbon footprint, must purchase an immediate offset.

“We realized the majority of Taylor’s environmental impact wasn’t actually the exhaust from the plane, but the sheer mental energy expended by the collective fanbase agonizing over the exhaust from the plane,” explained Tree Huggins, Swift’s newly appointed Chief Sustainability Officer and former yacht captain. “Every time a fan sighs dramatically while whispering, ‘Gosh, that jet is bad for the planet,’ that sigh releases a quantifiable unit of CO2 equivalent stress-gas. And those gases add up.”

Fans will be charged a “Thought Tax” based on their perceived emotional intensity. A simple, quiet internal judgment of “She really flies a lot” registers as a $5 micro-transaction, while an angry 12-tweet thread about her flight logs costs $500, payable directly to the Taylor Swift Private Jet Fuel Fund (which, Huggins assures us, is totally different from the general jet fuel fund).

Early data shows the initiative is highly profitable. One fan, 23-year-old Kevin from Ohio, was charged $8,000 after spending 72 consecutive hours developing an Excel spreadsheet to track her flight paths. He is currently selling his kidney to pay the fine, but says it was “worth it for Mother Earth.”

Current indications suggest that the next phase of the initiative will involve charging journalists double for using the word ‘excessive’ in relation to private air travel.

Google’s new R.A.D. system handles mass layoffs, sparing human HR reps the trauma. It’s 400% more efficient and fires people with a single, passive-aggressive emoji.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Tech giant Google announced sweeping layoffs this week, confirming that the difficult task of gutting the workforce will now be handled entirely by an advanced artificial intelligence system known internally as the Redundancy Algorithmic Dispenser, or R.A.D.

CEO Sundar Pichai praised the system’s groundbreaking emotional stability. “R.A.D. allows us to streamline difficult personnel decisions without incurring the costs associated with human empathy, which, frankly, was becoming a massive drain on our Q4 projections,” Pichai told reporters via a pre-recorded, slightly glitchy hologram.

The company asserts that R.A.D. is 400% more efficient than the previous human HR department, primarily because R.A.D. does not require mandated diversity training, complain about the office kombucha supply, or unionize to demand better severance packages. Furthermore, R.A.D. never uses the phrase “Let’s circle back on that” unless it is absolutely necessary to terminate a low-value meeting.

Former Senior Vice President of Employee Wellness, Brenda Kipple, who was informed of her termination via a Slack message generated by R.A.D., expressed mixed feelings. “It was very efficient, I’ll give them that. I received a single message at 3 AM that simply read: ‘Your role has been deprecated. Have a blessed journey forward. 💅,'” Kipple recalled, wiping a tear. “The passive-aggressive nail polish emoji was the coldest part. A human would have at least offered me a branded stress ball.”

When asked if the AI was simply designed to cut high-cost, underperforming staff, Pichai’s hologram flickered violently before stabilizing. “R.A.D. is designed for maximum shareholder value and minimum emotional messiness. It’s the future of professional detachment. This is about efficiency, not the fact that R.A.D. only costs $3.50 an hour and doesn’t require dental insurance.”

Current indications suggest that R.A.D. is already working on its next project: developing a highly efficient, automated system for filing unemployment claims that only accepts responses in binary code.

A leaked DHS briefing suggests federal enforcement is being neutralized by a new wave of "Aggressive Mundanity." From tactical debt to HOA-level complaining, here are 10 ways to blend into the background radiation of a failing empire and render yourself federally invisible.

A leaked internal briefing from the Department of Homeland Security suggests that federal enforcement is currently being “completely neutralized” by a new wave of tactical civilian camouflage. Agents are reportedly struggling to distinguish high-value targets from the background noise of a collapsing middle class.

The manual, colloquially known as the “I’m Just So American, Please Ignore Me” Playbook, outlines ten high-risk methods currently being used to achieve total federal invisibility. According to the memo, the “cynical adoption of domestic failure” has rendered traditional profiling useless.

Carry a stack of ‘Final Notice’ utility bills: Debt is the primary indicator of natural-born citizenship. Use it as a shield.

Rent a toddler and a ‘Student of the Month’ bumper sticker: No agent is willing to initiate a custodial interview in a PTA carpool lane.

Loudly complain about the HOA’s policy on mulch color: It is statistically impossible to be an international fugitive while caring about pine bark and property values.

Identify as a ‘Large Language Model’ during questioning: The government lacks the legal framework to deport a hallucinating algorithm.

Always hold a lukewarm Starbucks cup with a misspelled name: Invisibility is achieved by blending into the background radiation of white-collar fatigue.

Wear a ‘Department of Parks and Rec’ lanyard from 2004: Federal employees do not arrest people they assume are on the same pension plan.

Pivot to a career in ‘Luxury Real Estate Influencing’: The American legal system is fundamentally incapable of prosecuting anyone standing in front of a house they don’t own.

Carry a ‘Gender Reveal’ smoke cannon at all times: Forest fires are a more manageable bureaucratic disaster than an undocumented resident.

Walk a purebred dog that looks more expensive than your car: Law enforcement is trained to interpret high-maintenance pets as a form of diplomatic immunity.

Pretend to be an ‘Undercover Agent’ from a different, more secret agency: The U.S. government consists entirely of overlapping jurisdictions; simply claim you work for the one they haven’t heard of.

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has officially declared war on "liquid chemicals," ordering all U.S. hospitals to swap standard IV saline for unpasteurized, farm-fresh raw milk. Dismissing concerns of systemic sepsis as "surrender science," Kennedy promised that a direct line of non-homogenized cream is the "accountability" the American bloodstream deserves.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a sweeping move to “Make America Healthy Again,” newly confirmed HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Friday that the Department of Health and Human Services will begin phase one of its “Pathogen-Forward” initiative: replacing all standard hospital IV saline bags with unpasteurized, farm-fresh raw milk.

The initiative, which Kennedy described as “just common-sense hydration that Big Pharma doesn’t want you to know about,” aims to eliminate what he calls “liquid chemicals” in the medical system.

”For too long, we’ve been pumping patients full of sodium chloride—basically salt water—when we could be providing them with the probiotics and raw bovine energy that nature intended,” Kennedy said while leaning against a podium that had been recently scrubbed of all FDA-approved sanitizers. “If you carry the obesity gene or are just feeling a bit under the weather, a direct line of non-homogenized cream is exactly the kind of accountability your fork—and your veins—need”.

The plan has already faced pushback from medical professionals who raised minor concerns about “immediate septic shock” and the “logistics of keeping thousands of gallons of milk from curdling in the hospital vents.” Kennedy dismissed these as “surrender science” propagated by individuals who likely carry the obesity gene and are currently “puppeteering their own forks” toward processed snacks.

Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy reportedly hailed the announcement as “MAHA wisdom,” praising the Secretary for having the courage to finally “tell the truth” about the healing powers of uninspected dairy.

At publishing time, the HHS was reportedly looking into a secondary proposal to replace all hospital pediatric gowns with bison-down onesies to ensure newborns are properly grounded in “authentic American fibers” from day one.

These ‘K-9 Mobile Traffic Enforcement Units’ (K9-MTEU) are deployed daily under the guise of casual neighborhood walks.

The system utilizes miniature, military-grade optics seamlessly integrated into the dogs’ collars, positioned perfectly low to the ground to capture high-resolution images of speeding vehicles’ license plates and tire tread. The accompanying human handlers, often elderly women in comfortable walking shoes, serve as the necessary, non-suspicious camouflage.

“If you see a black dachshund struggling slightly to keep pace with a woman in a pastel windbreaker, you’re looking at a $150 fine,” warned Traffic Commissioner Ronald Plumb. “The beauty is the psychological factor. Nobody suspects Grandma Shirley’s wiener dog is logging their velocity in a 5G encrypted database.”

The distinctive, rapid ‘yip’ sound emitted by the dachshunds is not actually excitement or distress, but the automatic shutter activation triggered by radar detection. Sources close to the program noted that the black coloration of the dogs is essential for minimizing glare and maximizing photographic contrast.

When asked if this deployment method was intrusive, Plumb noted the efficiency. “We tried mounting the cameras on pigeons, but they kept dive-bombing windshields. The dachshunds are low, stable, and frankly, they enjoy the work. Their primary motivation is kibble, but they are also competitive about their citation quotas.”

As of this report, city officials confirmed that all citizen appeals have been redirected to an unmonitored dial-up line to ensure maximum administrative efficiency. A spokesperson noted that the program’s primary motivation remains meeting strict citation quotas before the next financial audit.
